You recently started a new gig and still have several important documents you’d like to keep on hand and utilize in your new role. Rather than creating a brand new Hightail account, did you know you can simply update your email settings? This way, you don't have to worry about transferring over your files; everything will be exactly where you left it!
Click the My Account tab located on the top right-hand side of your screen:
2. Select the Profile option:
3. Select the Edit button:
4. Enter in your current password, along with a new password (you can use the same password),then
enter in the email address you wish to switch to, and select the Submit button:
5. A validation email will be sent to the new email address. Your email will not switch over until
you confirm through this link. Please Note: If you do not see the email in your Inbox, please check your
Spam or Junk folders.
Any new files you send out or share will now come from this new email address.
Folders, files, and your Hightail Dropbox name will remain the same until you choose to make any changes.
Occasionally some users run into this message when changing their primary email address: "We have detected a technical issue with your account. Please contact support".
What’s the deal? This message indicates that you already have an account set up under that particular email address. In order to get it switched over, we will need to remove the account tied to that email address. This will also delete any files stored on that account as well. If this is the case, please navigate to the Support tab and open a case with us so we can get you taken care of.
